FREE HIGH-VELOCITY, HIGH-EFFICIENCY PRE-RINSE SPRAY NOZZLE |
Dallas Water Utilities is providing FREE low-flow pre-rinse spray nozzles for restaurants, cafeterias, and other commercial food service providers. A low-flow pre-rinse nozzle is one of the easiest and most cost effective water saving devices available to food service operators. What is a pre-rinse spray nozzle? A pre-rinse spray nozzle is a handheld device that uses a spray of water to remove food and grease from dishware, utensils, and pans before placing them in the dishwasher. Low-flow pre-rinse nozzles are inexpensive and easily interchangeable with different manufacturers’ assemblies. The amount of energy and water used by pre-rinse spray nozzles is significant. Dallas Water Utilities is offering a solution to help food service facilities save on hot water and sewer costs by replacing their pre-rinse kitchen sprayer with a new, high-efficiency, high-velocity spray nozzle. This includes schools, hospitals and cafeterias, as well as grocery stores and hotels. Who Is Eligible? In order to qualify for the Spray to Save! Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzle Program, you must:
Note: The most obvious difference between a low flow pre-rinse spray nozzle and the old conventional pre-rinse sprayer is that the old, inefficient model will have numerous holes that water is sprayed through while a low flow model will force all of the water through one hole. This program specifically applies to pre-rinse spray nozzle equipment intended for the food service industry. Other types of spray nozzle equipment do not qualify How Can I Participate?
Why Use a Low-Flow Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzle? A typical pre-rinse spray nozzle uses 3 gallons per minute, while a low-flow pre-rinse spray nozzle uses 1.6 gallons per minute or less. These nozzles can reduce water use by 30 to 70 percent. Low-flow pre-rinse spray nozzles are a water conservation measure that decreases three major utility costs: water, sewer and gas or electricity (for water heating).

Table shows results based on spray nozzle water savings of 1 gallon per minute, water cost of $2.00 per unit (748 gallons), sewer cost of 3.00 per unit (748 gallons), and gas cost of $1.00 per therm. By replacing old, high volume sprayers with this FREE high-velocity model, a typical restaurant can SAVE up to $1,000 a year in energy, water and wastewater costs. Your new replacement sprayer has a knife-action spray pattern, meaning more efficient rinsing than older, inefficient models. Resources
