The Dallas Water Utilities (DWU) Water Conservation Division is committed to providing programs and initiatives that support water conservation.
DWU will offer rebates of up to $3,000 for qualifying residential properties that upgrade to more efficient irrigation systems and support water conservation efforts.
About the Program
The Pilot Residential Irrigation Rebate Program will provide assistance to DWU customers to upgrade their existing irrigation systems with more efficient, water-saving equipment.
The pilot program will be introduced to an pre-selected group of 100 residential properties, for which we have conducted an Irrigation System Evaluation and were identified as having high potential to benefit from the program. Next fiscal year, the program will be open on a first-come, first-served basis and will serve up to 200 properties to participate in the program.
Eligible Rebate Options
- Install an EPA WaterSense-labeled irrigation controller
- Convert a pop-up spray zone to drip irrigation or bubblers
- Convert fixed spray nozzles to multi-stream rotary nozzles in turf zones
- Split an existing single irrigation zone into separate zones for beds and turf
Rebate Process
- Schedule a rebate Irrigation System Evaluation
- Submit a completed application
- Complete the project within one year and submit all required documentation
- Receive credit to your DWU water account within two billing cycles
